I Am Not Depressed

Yesterday was a very hard day for me. I never even wrote about how grateful I am to all those who saved us our Life, Liberty, and Property. I am very grateful, and I thank each and every one of you.

So what does this have to do with depression? I will never claim I am depressed, because I hate that word. When people are sad, that does not in itself mean they are depressed. Oh, but doesn't everyone become a PhD! (lol)

I am of the mind that you can force yourself into happiness through actions which alter your attitude. Unfortunately, I did not feel up to it yesterday.

Would someone please explain why there are people in our country whom are hoping for our defeat? I know it is sometimes necessary to point them out, but have you ever considered the consequenses of their actions if they win? That means we lose.

I do not want to live anywhere else in this entire world. Where will I go? Will they take all our guns? I only have so many rounds!

I want the fighting between us to stop. We are all Americans, right or wrong, and I pray for all of us. Can we please tone it down? We are at war! Or haven't you noticed on your pursuit of our defeat? Oh, hell. I can't even make sense anymore.

Doesn't anyone remember 9/11/2001? Do you remember the comradery? Even in my home state of NY, people were actually polite to one another. Miracle of miracles! I want that back. Please.

Wish I had the answers to those questions.

bos'un,

Sometimes I feel very alienated from my fellow citizens because of such differences in ideology.

If we want the infighting to seize, then it's got to work both ways, where we take time out to stop and listen to one another. We are so angry, we really don't spend time trying to understand each other's worldview. Instead, we go on the defensive, and just seek counterpoints to everything thrown at us. We're not always interested in pausing to think whether or not the other side actually has a valid point to make.

Today is one of those days, that it doesn't bother me, to be separated by party lines.

I have faith in our country that we will prevail.

Well I have to somewhat take issue with Wordsmith. I don't think we suffer from a lack of communication or understanding. I think that each side understands each other all too well.

What you have, rather, is an old-fashioned conflict of visions. I know exactly what Dean, Kerry and Murtha are saying, and I reject it.

I used to hear this during the Cold War, that most of our differences could be solved though "understanding." And if you go back in history, you'll see the same thing was said about the North and South prior to the Civil War. But no, the problem was not one of "understanding each other's worldview>" The problem, again, was that each side understood the other all too well>"

For the record, there are reasonable criticisms of the war and I do take those into account.

Bos'un, I can't completely answer your question as to why some people in our country are hoping for our defeat. Some of it has to do with an almost psychotic hatred of George W Bush, and some of it with a deep-seated distrust of any military activity by the US that is done for the purposes of national security, as opposed to humanitarian ventures like Haiti or tsunami relief.

Thanks for your comments Tom. Eventually we are going to have to get both sides of the aisle to work together and both sides of our political devide to see the common enemy, currenty the Caliphate Dreams of Islamofacism. Unfortunately most politicians and tne MSM ignor this Caliphate.

Keep the comments rolling. We appreciate having you visit.
