O-side School says “CEASE AND DESIST RICK ROBERTS!”
By Rick April 5th, 2006
I got a cease and desist order from the Oceanside School District!
And I didn’t even say what they say I said!
They e-mailed saying that I stated that the American Flag was not on the school’s flag polls or in the classrooms in the Oceanside Schools.
I never said that.
I merely repeated their idiotic decision of banning students wearing or carrying or displaying anything with an American Flag on it.
Hey! That decision is stupid enough.
I didn’t have to embellish that story.
That alone pissed off every hard-working God-fearing patriotic American!
I sure hope you folks at the Oceanside School District get your facts better when you’re teaching children than when you’re reprimanding talk show hosts.
But I doubt you do.
And by the way…You may be able to rip the American flag out of the hands of children, but I’ll be damned if you ever take away my freedom of speech.
Here’s the e-mail:

Subject: Request to Cease and Desist Announcements About American Flags in Oceanside Unified Schools
Importance: High
Tracy,
Please cease and desist from announcing that the Oceanside Unified School District is prohibiting the display of the American flag on our campuses and in our buildings. Your announcements are erroneous. An American flag is flying on every campus in Oceanside Unified and in every classroom in our district. Additionally, students recite the pledge of allegiance in our schools daily.
Superintendent Ken Noonan made a decision last week asking students to leave flags (of any nation) at home this week. He also prohibited placards, face paint and signs related to last week’s protests, because all of these items were contributing factors to the violent acts on campus surrounding immigration demonstrations. This temporary limitation is allowable under California Education Code.
American flags on our campuses and other sites are flying at half staff to honor a beloved 34-year Oceanside Unified employee who passed away last week.

We’re waiting Oceanside. When will our kids going to be allowed to be patriotic again?
