Congressman demands new OKC bomb probe

WND TOP STORY: Congressman demands new OKC bomb probe

Rep. Dana Rohrabacher, R-Calif., is calling for a congressional investigation of the Oklahoma City bombing because of evidence of a foreign connection and a conspiracy broader than Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols. The focus of the probe, he suggests, should be "Was there a foreign connection to the Oklahoma City bombing."

The link about the 87 pages that the judge ordered isn't working. I found the story for you. OKC. :)

PS. I hope they get the scum that kept quiet.

Thanks for finding the link problem. I corrected another one, too. Court TV which has some good coverage and history had the same problem. Now all links are back up.

Rosemary, I am not sure that they will get to the bottom of this. Remember this was during the Reno years of non cooperation.

Able Danger is still not resolved, as far as I am concerned and that is very recent history during the Bush administration. Some of the storied I could tell you about incompetence on the part of law enforcement entities would make you frustrated.

take a look at this 2004 CBS News artcle;

http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2004/02/25/national/main602120.shtml

Documents indicate the FBI and prosecutors ordered the destruction in 1999 of evidence from a bank robbery by the group.

It has emerged that senior FBI agents unsuccessfully sought permission in 2001 to interview McVeigh to resolve lingering questions about the case before the convicted Oklahoma City bomber was put to death.

Less than two weeks before McVeigh was executed, the Justice Department received a letter suggesting a key prosecution witness had given false testimony. Prosecutors didn't disclose the allegations to McVeigh's lawyers and later sought to recover all copies of the letter in exchange for a lawsuit settlement.

Last summer, the FBI internal affairs office investigated their crime lab's chief of scientific analysis about his conduct in the bombing case, according to people familiar with the investigation.

And remember this little gem about Terry Nichols in very recent history (2004:

Withheld evidence to sink case against Nichols?

Massive FBI intel failure, wider conspiracy in 1995 terror expected to emerge

Well...maybe. This sort of smacks of a conspriacy theory. I guess an investigation is fine but I wouldn't hold my breath that it will turn up anything. More to the point, no matter what you're opinion I think that if you call for an investigation here, and it turns up that there was no foreign involvement, you have to then accept it's findings.

I usually think that the most simple explanation is the most accurate.

This rumor of foreign involvement has been with the case from the beginning. I am not one who believes that there are black helicopters hovering just over the horizon. However, were we ready for foreign sponsored attacks on our soil at the time that Oki City bomb went off.

Terry Nichols did not have contact in Philippines and may have met with Yoesff. There is some additional exploring to do in that area.

Having somewhat close ties to the aftermath of the OKC Bombing, (I lost a cousin on my fathers side in the bombing and their granddaughter, last names were Trainer). There has always been a thought in the darkest parts of my mind, that there was more to this than met the eye.

I am not saying there may have been "foreign" parties involved, but there was more than McVey and Nichols involved. There were too many eye witnesses that saw more than one person, and there are some (very grainy) security pictures before the bombing that show more than one person in the U-Haul Truck.

There are alot of conspiracy theories still out there. Many are still coming to grips, and looking for closier. But as to whether anything will come of it is very, very doubtful.

Most all can agree that there were more involved than Timothy and Terry. Foreign is one possibility. Extremists are another. I am not confident that the FBI and Reno justice department did their job. And, like yourself, am not sure that anyone is willing to get to the bottom of it. That would mean to admit that we should not have allowed Timothy to be put to death at the time. With him died a lot of the knowledge that we need. Our federal law enforcement agencies have not had a good reputation of putting dots together or admitting to mistakes.

I am sorry for your loss an the loss of others in Oklahoma City and our nation. If we are unwilling to learn from past mistakes, the same mistakes will occur again.

I agree Bos'un, Every April 19th, thousands of family members come together at the site of the bombing to go through a "Memorial" service. I have never taken the word of the FBI for the bombing, nor have I entirely come to grips with the fact that McVey was arrested so soon after the bombing on a tag violation.

I want closier, just as those that lost loved ones. Some think that they have gained that closier to a certain extent, and are trying to go on with their lives. But I want the truth. How much was covered up, who, and why? Was there foreign attachments to the bombing? Yes, there are so many doors that have been left unchecked. If they are going to do this, I just hope they do it right and get all the facts before they go off half cocked.

I don't care if it goes as high as the President or his cronies (at that time), get the facts. back them up and go for the throat.

Sorry, but I get these same feelings every year around APRIL 19. At 9:02 am I observe a minutes worth of silence (personally) to remember those that perished. It usually takes about two days to come down off of it though. Thanks for bringing this up Bos'un. I do plan on following it, very closely.

Dear Sarge,
I am so sorry for your loss. I also want to thank you for your service, and welcome you home.

Have you heard of the book one of the journalists wrote? I believe her name is Jayna Davis. Here is the link to the book, if you'd like to check it out. She was there when it happened.

I sure do hope you find justice and peace. Keep praying.

rosemary,

Thank you, the fact of the matter is I was here in Oklahoma when the bombing occurred. Jayna Davis was one of the reporters for a local Oklahoma City TV Station at the time and I do remember watching her at that, time as well as other reporters. Thank you for the link and thanks for the prayers.
