KABC radio reporter, Sandy Wells, attempted to interview the principal of Academia Semillas del Pueblo, an LAUSD charter school.
Wells claimed that on Thurday morning, June 1, 2006, while at the school to interveiw the principle and do a follow-up report on a story orginally featured by KABC AM Morning Radio Talkshow host, Doug McIntyer, he (Wells) was chased down and tackled across the street from the school campus.
The video tape Wells was using to interview people with for his follow-up story was taken by an attacker during the altercation.
Wells claims that he was followed by a different car as he attempted to leave the area. Wells' account of the attack is linked here>>>>
According to KABC AM Morning Radio Talkshow Host, Doug McIntyre, the school receives support the tax payers, National Council of La Raza, and the Pasadena City College chapter of MeCHA (Movimemeniento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan). McIntyre invited the principle on his talkshow. However, the principle repeatedly refused McIntyre's requests. More from McIntyre linked here>>>>
Sandy Wells visited the school this morning to do a follow-up investigative report on McIntyre's claims and attempt to interview the principle. Apparently someone took offense to Wells' visit.
For additional background information on MeCHA:
Linda Bently, staff reporter for Sonoran News wrote an article, "Paving the way to Aztlán with propaganda, politics, racism." The article, first published in the Sonoran News in 2004, was featured in the Bosun Locker last year. Linda has done extensive research on MeCHA in Arizona and has some interersting revealations regarding MeCHA and their alleged link to the Aztlán movement. Link to Linda's article in Sonoran News>>>.

There is less-than-objective way in which this (and I guess all..) administrations hammer out their quotas for sanctions. Going to the State Departments website is an exercise in futility and trying to get a logical explanation from doing investigative work is a circular event, at best.
I agree with your posting... something is not right...
T-P,
As soon as I heard about the story, I emailed Linda Bently, as she is a seasoned reporter who has written several articles in regards to the Movimemeniento Estudiantil Chicano de Aztlan movements. Linda already had been alerted about it and shot back a link that may be of interest to you and this readership:

Thanks for the comments.

I listened to him, and to most of the happenings all day Thursday. He did nothing to invite the attack he received. They stole his tape. What happened to free speech? What happened to respect for reporters?
He had his ID on a necklace chain. It was obvious to all who looked. He had made an appt. It was a set-up. That school needs to be shut down.
BTW, they've changed their website...wonder why?
