Sudanese Refugees Jailed in Israel

About 220 men, women and children have escaped the genocide occurring in Sudan's Darfur region. They first went to Egypt where they were denied refugee status. Then some of them paid Bedoins to escort them to Israel. Upon arrival, once caught, they were improsed in an Israeli minimun security jail.

The reason for this is because Sudan is considered part of the Arab League, which is an enemy of Israel. However, there is a debate in Israel over whether or not these people should remain in a prison. After all, Israel, of all nations, understands better than anyone the high cost of genocide.

There are phone calls being made to third countries to try to find homes for these refugees. They need asylum. Please call your Senators and Congressperson at 1-888-355-3588, and let them know you want these people to come to America.

After all, the only thing they really want is freedom. That sacred thing we love so much we are willing to die for, or send our young men and women to die for us to preserve it.

You can read more about this situation in y-net news.com. There is also an article in CNN news.

Thanks for posting about this, it makes me angry how so many rights groups in the US ignore such sad stories and travesties.

It appears that many rights groups only care about their liberal agenda.

There are some rights groups that write about it, but they do not get the press, because the press isn't interested. I think that may be a part of it.

For most of them, that would mean actually getting off their asses and actually having to do something!

If Americans knew the truth about Darfur, there would be so much of an outcry we would hear it the world over.

Slavery, rape, genital mutilation, genocide, beatings, sexual abuse for food (thanks, UN), and many more atrocities. I write about it over at Causes of Interest, and you may also find it at my category: Africa. I only wish I could do more...

Thank you for your encouraging words. :)

*****Begind sarcasm*******
Geez, I don't know Bosun. If we call and ask that these folks, who might have been killed and lived in horrible conditions where they feared for their lives, be allowed to come to the US the people south of the border might sue us for discrimination.

You know how tough it is down there because they are all running into here. Must be really bad.......
*****End Sarcasm*******

These are the kind of people that Americans need to help. Now if Vincente Fox started murdering his own people.....

Hey, Big Dog! It's nice to hear from you. I agree with you, of course. (I wrote it. lol) Let them try to sue. I have a trick or two left over...
