…But make sure you say it in ENGLISH. Is that too much to ask for? Apparently it is. According to the civil rights watchdog agency, The Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations, Geno’s Steaks of South Philadelphia MAY be in violation of the city’s Fair Practices Ordinance, which bans businesses from discriminating on the basis of nationality or ethnicity.
Come on people, what ever happened to, “We reserve the right to refuse service to ANYONE .”
This is getting ridiculous. I agree with Geno’s owner Joey Vento, the grandson of Italian immigrants, who said, “I don’t see why I should have to. It’s freedom of speech”.
He said no one is refused service and no one is discriminated against. The sign, which has been displayed for about six months, is meant to encourage immigrants to learn English. AMEN TO THAT!
